Distance

On my second trip to China, I suddenly realized that I had some prejudices against Chinese people that I need to reconsider.

In the past, I thought that Chinese people were completely distant. I had made friends with Chinese students and also been to China once before, and it seemed that friendships are different in China than they are in Germany. It seemed to me that they were cold and reserved, and the people seemed to be shy.

But I completely changed my views during my second trip to China. I realized that the coolness gives away to warmth, friendliness, and humanity. The people I met were happy, bright and casual. They were hilarious and warmhearted. I felt like my original opinion was “topsy-turvy.”

I’m happy that I have changed my views. Watching friends interact like that made me satisfied. I can learn a lesson from this experience.
